Butterfly Count Down…

April 21, 2004 on 12:00 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

I knitted 8 rows last night. My tummy starting to get upset, so I spent more time watching tv than actually knitting. I’m up to row 46/103. Tonight is yoga, so no planned knitting. I might see if I can get those last two rows from yesterday finished.I found this on another blog and thought some of the questions were neat :1: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says:
DEC Multinational Extension to the ASCII Character Set with codes in the range A1(hex) through FE(hex). Sorry, the nearest book was a Fortran reference manual.2: Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?
Tape dispenser3: What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Designer’s Challenge on HGTV.4: WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what time it is:
10:30 am5: Now look at the clock, what is the actual time?
10:26 am6: With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
My co-workers talking and the aquarium in my office bubbling.7: When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
I was last outside when I arrived at work.8: Before you came to this web site, what did you look at?
Okay, I found this list here which pointed here as the place they found it but I started here.9: What are you wearing?
Khakis and a light green top with brown Sketchers.10: Did you dream last night?
I don’t remember.11: When did you last laugh?
Err… last night at my husband12: What is on the walls of the room you are in?
Posters for the last satellite I worked on, a big white board, two drawing trees, a map of Taiwan, and three calendars (one is a frog one from Australia and one is a big poster from the launch systems group at work from last).13: Seen anything weird lately?
Not really.14: What is the last film you saw?
I watched some B-movies over the weekend. I think the last one I saw was The Long Shot on the Hallmark channel. I only reason I watched it was because it started Julie Benz who played Darla on Buffy/Angel.16: If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?
A lawyer and team of financial people… but really, first big purchase would be a farm, first small purchase… maybe wireless router and cards for our computers at home.19: Do you like to dance?
Yes, but I’m too self-conscious.21a: Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
First girl will either be Nora or Emily.21b: Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
Still pondering the question… haven’t come up with anything yet.22: Would you ever consider living abroad?
Yes! I would love to live abroad for a while.—–

Butterfly status

April 20, 2004 on 12:00 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

I have less than two weeks to get this buttefly pillow finished. And my current status? Back is finished, I have 38 of 103 rows finished for the front… and I just remembered that I have to knit the antennae too! I only knit about four or five rows yesterday. I spent two hours painting the newest house for my mom’s company (closing is on Friday). So, my plan to finish:1) Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday aim is to knit 10 rows each day.
2) Finish the front over the weekend. Should be 35 rows left.
3) Knit antennae and assemble during next week.I’m also hoping to stitch Black Swan Design’s Alpine Meadow as a side gift. I’m cover another satellite test on Thursday (and the weekend) so I’m hoping to be able to start and finish that Thursday night.I’m so glad I decided to buy a indoor/outdoor slide for my other niece (my oldest niece, A’s birthday is on Thursday and the youngest, little O’s is on Saturday) instead of making something. We are having a joint family party for them on Saturday.

Tulips!

April 19, 2004 on 12:00 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

My tulips have been threatening to bloom for a while now. So, when I walked out this morning, I really wasn’t expecting this:I have about six tulips bloom, some are red, some are yellow, and I had the two above.Yesterday, I stopped by Dancing Leaf Farm during their open house. I was in search of a drop spindle and some dyed roving. Since she hasn’t sheared yet this season she only had one dark purple roving left from last season. She also doesn’t sell drop spindles anymore, only spinning wheels. I attempted to make a CD one from instruction I found on line. I definitely need a real one.But I did manage to make a tiny bit of yarn before I got too frustrated to even look at it any more:So, I spend the rest of the evening working on the band RR I’m in (I did the bottom five bands)…

Small Photoshoot today

April 17, 2004 on 12:00 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

We had our Broadway concert tonight and since it was the third weekend of the month, grandma came over for dinner first. I also invited over my sister and her family and my mom. I was at my sister’s house earlier in the week and did a little photoshoot with her and her two oldest. Little O was asleep so we didn’t get any pictures of her. Tonight the two oldest were at their dad’s, so it was just my sister, her husband, and little O. So, we did a little photoshoot with her while she was awake. And what better place than on our farm. She liked mooing at the cows. I really like how this pictures came out. Of course, my sister had a bit of a struggle trying to keep little O from climbing over the fence to run with the cows!

Stitcher’s Five

April 16, 2004 on 12:00 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

Favourite Themes:1. What is your favourite theme to stitch (i.e. primitive, fantasy, samplers, etc)

Fantasy!

2. Has this always been your favourite theme (i.e as your tastes change)?

I’ve loved fantasy since College. Since stitching, yes it has been my favorite. But I do like more than just fantasy now, but they haven’t over taken the fantasy as favorite yet.

3. How many WIPs/UFOS do you have currently in this theme?

I have two WIPs/UFOs that fall into the fantasy theme.

4. And how many finished?

I have finished… seven things… if you also count angels as fantasy.

5. Name three favourite designs in your overall favourite theme.

Of my WIPs/UFOs and finished pieces, I’d say Spring Valley is my favorite with Storyteller coming in second. I think Dragon Dream’s dragons are just too cute, but I had to pick just one… maybe Dragon Tea Party. I have most of the designs that I like, and I probably have some really cool ones in my stash that I’m forgetting.
