What did you buy today?

I got this from Daydreaming on Paper. I haven’t bought much today. I went to Wegmans at lunch and got veggie sushi w/ brown rice, a 2 pack of half moon cookies, and a Liz Blizz. I had Liz Fuel on Saturday and was looking for that again, but the blizz was the closest I could find.

In stitching news, I finished up all the little x’s on Apline Wings. I started the little bit of backstitching there is and then I just have to bead this little guy and I’ll have one more things off my WIP list!

Progress on Night Flight

My plan was to work on Night Flight until I felt like moving on. While I am throughly enjoying working on this project, I had forgotten that extended amounts of time working on this hurts my shoulders because of the strange stitching position. This thing is very long so when I’m stitching near the middle, my left arm is being held up pretty high behind the canvas. I have tried to rotate the desgin, but my stand isn’t wide enough for that. I think my limit is about one week of working on this before I have problems. So, my week is up and I have to move on. Here is my progress picture from the past week. I finished up the large dark green section and the four sections below that. I also worked on the bird and some more on the moon. Here is a link to an older scan.

Moving to Movable Type

I’m having problems with importing my Blogger posts into Movable Type. Hazel has been helping me. And I’m pretty sure the format is correct at this point. I even tried to import the format example and that didn’t work! I might have to do this the hard way and just copy and paste each of posts by hand (ugh)… but I’m not quite at that point yet!

Stitching news. I’m working on Night Flight right now and since I got back last week, I’ve finished three of the sections. It looks like I’m getting close to finishing but since I’m not finished the moon or the bird yet, it is really closer to only half way finished. I just realized last night that the moon has random continental stitches with #8 braid. I was thinking it was BF and I could just go back over the stitching. But I might end up having to frog the moon and plan our my random stitches and not put the Watercolour there. I guess I’m still not 100% convinced that it would be impossible to go back over with the braid (I’m using 14 count mesh).

Sunday is my solo at church. I have a tape of the piano accompaniment that I’ve been practicing with. It would be much easier if the accompaniment didn’t take that unmarked measure rest in the middle of the song. I’m not exactly sure why, it might have been a page turn or something. But once I realized what was going on, it was much easier to practice and things fit in together much better

Speeding right along!

Jury Duty! I almost forgot about it. But I remembered about 9 pm last night. So, I had to quickly send an email to some people at work. Probably the most important was to make sure that IS could get into my office to swap computers. While we were waiting for the bailiffs to escort us to the court room for the jury selection, there was a plea and we all got to go home. So, I got to work about an hour after my usual time. I was in meetings until about noon and my new computer showed up about 1:20! Yeah, new computer, new monitor, and a new keyboard. I’m so happy! I think it was calculated that this computer is about five times faster than my old one. That is what IS told me… but purely based on numbers, it is more like 6.5 times faster. Zoom zoom! New blog… I’m still working on getting the new blog up and running. I think I finished everything except for importing my posts from blogger to mt. Once that is complete, I will start to post only there.

Not quite yet…

I thought I had figured out how to shift my blog to my site, but it isn’t quite working… maybe I have to post differently. Oh well, won’t matter soon. Because I’m moving to Moveable Type! Stay tuned! In work related news. I’m getting a new computer! Not sure what the speed is yet, but it has got to be better than the current computer I’ve had for the last five years! They are taking away the old one tomorrow morning to get the info onto my new one! Yeah! I’m also switching programs. The one I’m on now is wrapping up (we shipped the satellite in June) so I’m off to bigger and better things.
