Granite…

Your monitor mileage may vary, but here is a picture of the granite in my kitchen…

What oh what is a girl to do besides paint her kitchen white or peach?

How to match…

A granite counter top that has dark peach tones? I took a picture over the weekend and forgot to upload it to my server, so I’ll try to remember that tonight or tomorrow. My dream is to have the house in Arts & Crafts (Craftsman, Mission) style so I am dreaming of having my walls in a warm pale gold color. But it just doesn’t work with the kitchen counter. I borrowed a big swatch book from a friend who just painted her first floor with Sherwin-Williams paints and the color that seems to be the closest to what I want? A very pale peach color. Ugh, not what I had in mind. I think I need professional help (no the dr kind, but the decorating kind). I mean, what do I know? Ask me to design a thermal system to keep a satellite happy in space and I’m your gal, but ask me to pick out walls colors and I feel like a fish out of water. No matter how happily I’m flopping away, I don’t think I’m going to be able to make my ideas come true. But it won’t stop me from trying!

I tried to get back to stitching over the weekend by starting a new project. I prepped the fabric by putting it on scroll rods and I kitted up all the threads and I made working copies. I set up my floor stand for the first time since moving (four weeks ago) and put the new project in the stand and sat down in front of it… and watched tv. For those interested, I was attempting to start Victoria Sampler’s Sweet Pea Gazebo. I did manage to stitch one rhodes butterfly and half of the band below it before giving up for the night. Hopefully tonight will be better. I’m also getting another night to stitch/knit soon. I’m moving up from Yoga 2 to Yoga 2-3 next session and the current session ends this week. So, I’ll get more of my Wednesday night back and in exchange I’m giving up Saturday morning.

As seen on the blog of a friend with acreage.

Bold the states you’ve visited; underline the states you’ve lived in; and italicize where you are living now.

Alabama / Alaska / Arizona / Arkansas / California / Colorado / Connecticut / Delaware / Florida / Georgia / Hawaii / Idaho / Illinois / Indiana / Iowa / Kansas / Kentucky / Louisiana / Maine / Maryland / Massachusetts / Michigan / Minnesota / Mississippi / Missouri / Montana / Nebraska / Nevada / New Hampshire / New Jersey / New Mexico / New York / North Carolina / North Dakota / Ohio / Oklahoma / Oregon / Pennsylvania / Rhode Island / South Carolina / South Dakota / Tennessee / Texas / Utah / Vermont / Virginia / Washington / West Virginia / Wisconsin / Wyoming / Washington D.C /

I’ll be thinking about this all day, so I might come back and update it if I forgot something. I’m also only adding in the states that were final destinations, so I’m not counting airport layovers and drive thrus on the way to other locations.

Not much stitching going on here (actually I’ve stitched maybe once in the past two months). I have been doing some knitting, but I can’t really talk about it.

They were trying to get us to pay them for 200 gallons when legally the gas company can only fill it to 80% (160 gallons). I think not.

My agent considers the subject closed and we are going to do what we agreed to do (pay for the gas that was delivered). And if they come back trying to get us to pay for the extra gallons, he now has the information that it isn’t 92 gallons we aren’t paying for, it is only 52!
