Happy 3rd Anniversary Sweetie!!

I was going to post a copy of the vows that DH wrote (with a little help from me), but they are still packed in one of the library boxes. I also tried to find the CD that has the wedding pictures archived, no luck there. So, I scanned in two of my favorite pictures from our wedding in Hawaii three years ago today.

No, the background is not a backdrop, it is the real thing! It was taken after the ceremony just before sunset at the Outrigger in Kona, Hawaii. And my favorite picture of my groom.

Hot tubs are awesome!

Okay, so last night was the first night in four days that we didn’t hit our new hot tub. And I just have to say, wow is this hot tub awesome. Our new fluffy terry cloth robes are on they way to complete the spa experience.

And from a bunch of knit blogs…

Stupid Bird

March 4, 2005 on 1:00 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

We started eating at a table set up in the sunroom. That way we can watch the birds and squirrels. There are lots of bird feeders that the sellers left and even some squirrel feeds. Yesterday a female cardinal somehow got stuck in one of the squirrel feeds and couldn’t get out (stupid birdbrain!). I tried to take some pictures from the sunroom, but they have glare off the windows. The squirrel was hanging out in the little cabana while the cardinal went crazy trying to get out of the glass. Eventually I grabbed my jacket and went to free the silly thing. Of course I had to take a picture up close of the silly bird.

The move in almost complete (it goes slow with only a RAV4 and an F150!). DH will probably complete the rest of it today (he is home while I’m back at work). Then he will either start cleaning the old place or unpacking the new place for the rest of today. We are going to dedicate the rest of the weekend to cleaning up the old place.

Yesterday I figured out the house audio system and the living room surround sound. I’ve come to the conclusion that the surround sound system they left is pretty much worthless. The circuits for the rear speakers are blown. I’ve done some pricing and we are going to replace the receiver (probably with a Sony one) and eventually over time replace the speakers too. But for now we do have left, right, center, and subwoofer working. I also figured out the house audio system and can’t quite figure out why they did the things they did. The audio from the stereo goes into a “monster cable” box that has 4 outputs. He was only using 2. One of the outputs go to both the kitchen and the den while the second goes to the sunporch and deck. So, why didn’t he split it up into 4 zones since the box has that many outputs? One day that will also get upgraded to a multizone/multisource system with wall mounted controllers.

We are slowing moving in…

I did five loads while DH did six loads last night. I can fit 25 banker boxes in my car plus some misc stuff and still see out the back window. I love my RAV4! DH took all the big boxes and the furniture since he has an F150. So far the new house has most of the boxes and a small amount of furniture. I set up the bed last night (it takes a while since it is a soft-sided water bed) while DH did the sixth trip. We also have the tv, dvd player, and the Directv/DVR at the new house. That came over on the fifth trip and my job while he was gone was to set up the bed, kitchen table, and tv. He didn’t get home until 8pm and I was in a panic since he forgot the tv power cord on the fifth trip and I couldn’t verify that I had plugged the Directv into the correct coax jack (there are three in the living room and I know one goes to the antenna on the roof). So, I ran inside as soon as he got back (with the power cord) and was extremely relieved to find that I did set it up right and the DVR didn’t forget any of our season passes and Gilmore Girls was being recorded.

There a couple of things about the new house that we want/need to fix. They installed a right side door knob on the front (left side) door. So you have to pull the lever up to open the door. Very annoying. The hallway has three ceiling fixtures… all of which are different! And probably the worst, with the nifty workbench in the garage, DH’s truck doesn’t fit! So, we’ll have to change sides and cut about three feet off the workbench to get that monster in (it is only a basic F150!).

I did take a picture of the backyard to update the picture at the top… but my computer is still at the old house and DH’s laptop doesn’t have the photostitch software to create the panorama. That will have to wait until tonight.

We’re homeowners…
