What is up next?
May 27, 2005 on 12:00 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsWell, in the world of knitting, I bought more yarn (I’m usually really good). So, that brings the total up to four projects that are kitted up and ready for me to knit. Earlier this week, I bought the patterns for Ribby Shell and Ribby Cardi. And I also bought the yarn for them.

Orange Brandy for the shell and Autumn Purple/Lotus Blossom for the cardi. Both are Peruvian Highland Wool from Elann. I’m going to start the shell next after I’m done the baby blanket (hopefully the end of next week). That way I’ll be able to wear it this summer. Then I’m going to work on one of my older kitted up projects, Liv by Elsabeth Lavold from her Viking Knits Collection.
And in the spinning world. Remember that conference I talked about way back in March. Well, I found out this week that I got my class. Gee, it took them two months to tell me and for the charge to show up on my card? Whatever. I’m going and I’ll be happy about it. It might be a tad expensive, but it will be an intense 18 hours of instruction in only a couple of days. I’ll be an expert by the end!
Julia Pictures!
May 21, 2005 on 12:00 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsJulia was born this morning at 4:49 am. The doctors all thought my sister’s water had broken at about 8:30 Friday morning. But it turns out it didn’t fully break. They didn’t realize that until oh way early this morning. So at 3am they went ahead and broke the rest and shortly there after Julia was born. Here are some pictures:
And finally baby Julia and me:

And just for clarification. No, James and Julia are not related. James is DH’s sister’s youngest.
Why I’ve had no progress for the past two months…

I knitted a Pi shawl for my friend’s birthday. The little birthday party was last night and I can post all the pictures I want now!
Specifics on the design:
Pi Shawl by Elizabeth Zimmermann
Knit Pick’s Shimmer in Morning Mist (used just over 3 skeins)
US6 needles
Started March 11
Finished May 17
That means I can get back to knitting the baby blanket for my sister. Good thing since I got a call from my mom this morning that my sister’s water broke while she was at her doctor’s appointment this morning! I should have updated news sometime this afternoon.
Miscellaneous thoughts
May 19, 2005 on 12:00 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsSo, the ABC meme has been going around lately. Am I the only one that looks to see if they are on anyone’s list? I go straight for the T’s to see if I’m there. So, far I’m not (not even on mine!).
Star Wars Episode III… we saw it last night. I won’t go into details because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. But Erin wrote up a very good blog entry on it. I would highly suggest reading it before you see it. I think her predictions were dead on. I would also suggest that you bring tissues.
