Some Pictures before I go

I don’t feel like talking much, work is annoying me and well, this is definitely not the place to discuss that…

I went to AC Moore to get more eyeballs for the last hedgehog. They were sold out of 12 mm solid black eyes. Good thing because it turns out I had another package at home that I didn’t see until late last night. So, I finished up the lime green one.

I also got my Spunky Fiber for the month. I accidentally called last months October’s (it arrived on Oct 1), but that was actually September’s. This is the real October. It is Falkland in colorway Monster Mash.

I’m heading to the airport at 7:30 AM tomorrow. If I can get online, I might try to post. If not, I’ll see ya next month.

Hmmm….

I’ve tried to write a couple of entries in the past couple of days. But I’ve always erased them because you really don’t care that I saw my dad for the first time in five years and I was happy to go home without having to interact with him that much. And do you really care that there was a huge accident Thursday night that royally screwed up the Friday morning commute (I ended up being over an hour late to my oboe lesson that was suppose to start at 7:30am). And do you really care that the reason that a toilet drains counterclockwise in the southern hemisphere has more to do with design than Coriolis forces?

So, what is left to talk about? I cast on 437 stitches (technically I knit on) for my Creatures of the Reef shawl. I didn’t want to attempt that on the airplane on Friday…

FRIDAY! I leave in 3 days! I would say things are falling into place, but my favorite black tshirt is missing! How can DH expect me to go to NZ without my favorite tshirt!

And can I just say that boy am I sick of people trying to blame me for their screw ups. I think the count is up to three today.

T - 8 Days

My co-worker didn’t show up, so I had to update my white board myself. Actually, I did it as soon as I walked into my office this morning.

Last night I worked on putting eyeballs and noses on the last four hedgehogs. Well, that was the plan. Three sets of eye and four hedgehogs doesn’t quite add up… so Mr Lime Green will have to wait until I can get to AC Moore for another package of eyes.

These three are coming with me to NZ as gifts. So, I decided to not sew up their bottoms and to pack their stuffing using my Foodsaver. It is amazing how much air is really in that stuff.

I forgot to get individual photos of some of them in the hard hat and tool belt. So, I had to hog-nap from a co-worker today for a photo shoot. I think that is the answer to what will I do now that all the little hedgehogs are gone. I’ll hog-nap them from my co-workers.

T - 9 Days

This afternoon a co-worker walked into my officed and looked at my white board asking where my count down was. I didn’t have one. So, he grabbed a pen and I now have a count down. I told he has to come back every day to updated it.

Not much happening here. My legs are a bit sore with the increase in mileage. But I’m going to tough out the next four runs because I’ll be getting a bit of a break after that. I’m trying to decide if I want to do a 5k or the 10 miler at the beginning of April. I’m leaning towards maybe finding a 10k to challenge myself and running the Stupid Little 5k and not the 10 miler.

I received my Knit Happens order yesterday with my Creatures of the Reef pattern and wound up one skein of lace weight over the weekend, so that is ready to go. I restarted DH’s Pomatomus socks. I wasn’t happy with the YO, so I’m replacing them with other increases. I pulled out the sock I’m doing for me (Jaywalkers) and was a bit surprised to see that I’m half way down the foot on the first sock. I also found the felting needle that I lost at the end of July (it was hidden in my sock bag).

Things are coming together for the NZ trip. I dragged my new suitcase upstairs into the land of Spare ‘oom and I’m collecting things there (like the little travel/trial sized goodies I bought last week).

I feel like posting a picture, so here is one of my grandma and me. She will be turning 85 while I’m gone, so we are doing her birthday party this Sunday. My sister is putting together a little scrapbook with updated photos of everyone. I took this photo about two years ago before my first Honduras trip.
