See, he really does have hair

I was thinking this morning about taking a picture so people could see that he has hair on more than just the top, it is just really pale.  Then when I went to my gallery for today’s picture, I found this… see… hair!

He still loves to nibble on toucan toes whenever he gets the chance.

The Rice Cereal Saga

Not much to tell, he is a quick learner and is taking to the spoon like a champ. Only problem seems to be him lunging forward while I’m coming in with the spoon. A bunch ended up on his nose last night. It works best if I let him grab my hand to bring the spoon in for a landing, otherwise his chomps down on the spoon before it has a chance to get fully into his mouth.

Ambulance bill updated… I convinced Scott to work this after I called my insurance company and the ambulance service. He tried again and things are looking good. The ambulance service charged it as non-emergency because that is how the hospital called them (ie life support wasn’t needed). But when Scott called the first hospital they said it was definitely an emergency and used another term which I can’t remember. But the service says it is either one or the other not both. But I think the ambulance service is willing to change the code if the hospital tells them to (which it sounds like the one hospital might do, the other hospital was out to lunch when Scott called). Changing the code means the insurance will cover it. I’m glad I convinced Scott to call, he was saying that we should just pay it. Easy for him to say since the $1600 would come out of my bank account (actually he was saying if I paid one, he would pay the other. But I don’t think we should have to pay either). Lately I’ve been feeling like the drain opened up and money is just flowing out (in the past month I’ve bought a tiller, a fridge, and a 3 night cruise for 3). And where is my stimulus check?!?

That would be the noise our fridge made Friday night after it gasped its last breath.  We moved the baby milk from that fridge to the one down in the basement that night.  Good thing because the next day everything was quickly warming up to room temperature.  We moved the rest of the stuff Saturday before heading out to my sister’s.  On the way home, we stopped by Sears and bought ourselves a new fridge (and Scott called about an hour ago to say it was delivered).

I also finished my monkey and gave her to my oldest niece.  I’ve been calling her Funky Sherbert (because of the Sherbert BM colorway).  My only disappointment is that I didn’t have enough Sherbet yarn.  I had to modify the directions for the ears so I wouldn’t run out.  The kit is suppose to have enough yarn to make a large monkey and a small monkey.  I started the small monkey, but I had to find a different yarn to accent the Fire on the Mountain (I used Knit Picks Shine Sport in turquoise).

Henry also had a big day on Saturday…

Treadmill is not broken

Thanks for all the encouraging posts. I’ve decided to give running a try and work my way back to my 12 min miles (see, I told you I slow, it takes me a year of training to get to 12 min miles!).

Scott thought the treadmill had died (it isn’t actually ours, Catherine just doesn’t have room in her basement for both Noah and the treadmill).  It turns out that the red key thingy came off…

So, we are going to talk this weekend about how to get me some time on the treadmill.  I don’t want to give up the half hour after I get home when I can play with my baby.  So, I am going to try running while Scott is feeding and then bathing him.  Then I’ll be back in time to put him to bed.

In more great news that I forgot to share.  Another friend is expecting in November (yay!) and Noah came home from the hospital last weekend (did I share that already?).

Our weekend is going to be exciting.  I’ve decided to start Henry on solids this weekend.  I was going to wait until 6 month (3 more weeks), but he is ready now and the long weekend gives us plenty of time to watch him from any reactions, not that I expect any with very soupy rice cereal.  That way for his half year birthday, we can celebrate by giving him some yummy fruit or veggie.

Besides that on Saturday we have a birthday party for my sister’s girls (April 29th - 14 yo, May 1st - 6 yo, and May 21st - 3yo).  I’m making the funky sock monkey for the 14 yo.  I have one arm and two ears to do before I start the finishing.  Monday we are heading to the in-laws for a bbq.
