My smart little boy
October 20, 2008 on 5:41 pm | In Henry | 2 CommentsSo, the other day (week…) I noticed that Henry can now play with his Giraffe all by himself. In the past I would put the ball half way in the Giraffe’s mouth and he would push it in the rest of the way. But now, he picks up the ball and shoves it into the mouth all by himself! I wanted to take a picture but got this instead…
And then he started to crawl towards me. So I said no no, Mommy wants to take a picture of you putting the ball into the giraffe’s mouth. And you know what he did? My smart little guy turned around the shoved the ball into the giraffe’s mouth!
On Saturday I was asked my favorite part of motherhood… I answered, Celebrating all the small things (I think that is also another way of saying seeing the world through a child’s eyes). Who knew that I would get all excited because my baby shoved a ball into a Giraffe’s mouth
And for reference he is wear a onesie that his cousin painted for him at the baby shower last November. Any guesses as to his cousin’s name?
Getting really close…

Scott said that yesterday when Henry was standing near the brick border surrounding one of the trees outside, he was leaning over a bit and then just let go and stood there and then put his hands back down. So, things should be getting really interesting soon. Lots of times while cruising he barely has a hand down. And he seems to think the green wire on his Supermaze provides enough support to both pull himself up and to remain standing. Okay, he doesn’t really “pull” himself up these days. The hand is just there for balance as he stands up. Daycare also said that he likes to push the baby doll stroller around (which is a big step along the walking path from his walker).
While this is all great news, I’ve been in a bit of a funk since I got some tragic news at work earlier this week. On Sunday one of my co-workers lost his wife and sister while on vacation in Hawaii.
4pm and all is clear!
October 14, 2008 on 4:09 pm | In Henry | 1 CommentYay! He made it thru a day of daycare! The past week and a half have been a bit painful with a sick little one. Last I posted he was home sick (10/2 and 10/3). On the following Monday he was sent home from daycare just after lunch. He was home on Tuesday. He made it thru a full day Wednesday. Thursday he was sent home early again and Friday he was home all day (with a nifty temp of over 104!). His fever didn’t break until Sunday afternoon so he was home on Monday (which was also a holiday). But today I think he is finally all well since I didn’t get any phone calls (but then again, I thought that last Wednesday too!). We’ll see what the full report is once daddy gets home with him and gives me a call (should be just before 4:30).

Its the weekend…

What do you have planned?
We are supposed to go to the Waterford Fair with Catherine and Noah tomorrow. But I’m still thinking about it. Henry had a fever Wednesday night/Thursday morning and while that is much better, the doctor said he has a eye infection (DH said something about infected tear duct I think). By Saturday morning, he’ll have been on antibiotics over 24 hours, so I think it should be okay… but I don’t want Noah to get anything since his health is so fragile still. The doctor said that he isn’t contagious but also said to make sure we wash our hands. That might just be because we are touching his eyelids to get the ointment in.
Newest drummer
September 30, 2008 on 4:22 pm | In Henry | No CommentsI think we might have a new drummer for the band.

On a side note, just before I joined the band (5.5 years ago), they had a group photo taken. At the Feb concert this year they had a photographer come and take some new photos. I wasn’t playing that concert (maternity leave). I usually sit in the center of the front row between the 1st oboe and the 1st clarinet. Just imagine me in all the photos… and this little guy in the back row.
